Thank you to Refugio for hosting annual hose testing again today. Bayside also took advantage of the ground ladder testing service offered today as well to ensure that equipment is ready if needed.

Annually we are required to test all of our hose to the NFPA standards. Yesterday was just Refugio getting 11,000 feet of hose. Today our neighbors are in town getting there hose tested also. We all use Waterway North Texas as our 3rd party contractor.

Bayside VFD would like to say thank you to Matt Tuttle and the donors who generously donated funding to help purchase a pallet of bottled water for Bayside VFD.
This generous donation is essential in keeping first responders hydrated while out at emergency scenes helping protecting the citizens throughout the county. Bayside VFD is blessed to have sure caring neighbors in Refugio County.

Thank you Tivoli VFD for hosting a great meeting tonight.

TVFD is hosting the South Texas Fire Chief's Officer's Association meeting tonight at the school. This group of fire chiefs and fire officers meet every other month somewhere in the region from Cuero to Georgewest, Rockport and other places. We get the latest news from emergency management, weather, the Forest Service as well as other groups and organizations who have information pertinent to fire departments.

Please join us in keeping Texas DPS Canine Trooper Zachary Vasquez, his family, fellow Troopers, and everyone affected by yesterday’s tragic crash in your thoughts and prayers.

On June 23, Trooper Vasquez and his K-9 partner, Guido, were traveling on US Highway 67 near Alpine when a pickup truck reportedly crossed into their lane, resulting in a head-on collision. Trooper Vasquez suffered multiple leg injuries and was airlifted to University Medical Center in El Paso, where he is expected to undergo several surgeries.

K-9 Guido was evaluated by veterinarians and is doing well.

This tragic crash also claimed the life of the other driver, making this a heartbreaking day for more than one family. Please keep all of those in impacted in your prayers as they face the difficult days ahead.

We are praying for Trooper Vasquez’s strength and recovery, his family and for his Texas DPS family and for comfort and peace for every family affected by this tragedy.
