Many thanks to the Berkeley community for all the contributions at Saturday's coin toss! All proceeds are going to the purchase of a utility truck to support our search and rescue efforts.

In addition to underwater search and rescue, we provide water safety, Cedar Creek debris removal, retrieve abandoned boats, and "Stop the Sting" by disrupting the jellyfish population in our lagoons.

Happy New Year from BTUSAR!

We are very grateful for the last year working with the community and welcoming many new team members! There is plenty to highlight from 2023 before we start taking a deep dive into 2024!



~Completion of the 3-year jellyfish project with scrubbing of bulkheads in Brick, Bayville, and Toms River to remove potential polyp threats

~Removal of derelict vessels from Barnegat Bay

~Attended the International Submarine Races for the first time in 4 years! Many thanks to FURE for sponsoring the event and supporting today’s youth.

~Provided safety at the Garvey races for Jersey Shore Boat Racing

~Annual cleanup at Cedar Creek

~Continued to participate in outreach and education throughout the surrounding community

We have a few reasons to celebrate this week! Our 3 year effort to scrub vinyl bulkheads in Bayville, Brick, and Toms River is complete! We are excited to learn from Dr. Paul Bologna at Montclair State University if our efforts to reduce bay nettle jellyfish in Barnegat Bay really shows a decrease in the local populations. These results will take months to learn, hang in there! To celebrate our last day of scrubbing, our ride or die Jellyfish Education Coordinator jumped in the water to scrub with our team. Have you interacted with Brittany this past three years? Jump in the comments below! Thank you Brittany for all of your hard work coordinating our dive team, Save Barnegat Bay , Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science , neighbors in three towns, and MSU to complete this project. You did a great job! Brittany can now be found in her new role as a full-time team member at SBB. CONGRATS on your promotion! And thank you to ALL of the people that made it possible to execute the world's first ever jellyfish polyp scrubbing effort. Earlier this week, the team and guests became artists! 🎨🖌️
Ceramics Night was an incredible success all thanks to the ever-talented ladies at !!!

With the help from Sue and Amy, 32 guests were able to choose from a plethora of ceramic pieces to paint and bring back home to remember forever!
