Today we honor the life and legacy of Robert “Bob” Popovics, whose impact on our community, the fishing world, and all who knew Bob continues to be felt every day.
Berkeley Township officially declared June 1st as “Bob” Popovics Day. As we remember Bob today, we celebrate a life well lived and a legacy that will continue to inspire future generations.

On Saturday, May 30th, we gathered along Amherst Beach to honor a cherished maritime tradition, the Blessing of the Fleet.
As boats gathered along the bay and families came together, we gave thanks to the service of our brave men and women who fight for our freedom everyday.
Thank you to Mary Nuziale and all members of the Berkeley Shores community for hosting this event, everyone who volunteered, attended, and helped make this special event possible.

On behalf of myself, my Administration, and the Township Council, we were honored to attend the Central Regional JROTC Annual Ball on Saturday, April 25th, 2026.
We would like to congratulate the cadets, through your dedication to JROTC, you’ve chosen a path that demands discipline, respect, and perseverance. You are learning how to work as a team, face challenges, and how to carry yourselves with integrity. These are lessons that will guide you whether you pursue military service, higher education, or careers right here in our community.
The leadership, service, and pride you demonstrate reflect the very values that make our township strong, and as Mayor, I am proud of what this program represents for Berkeley Township.
