Beachwood Volunteer Fire Department Awarded $10,000 Grant to Support Firefighter Safety State Farm® Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program grant will help Beachwood Volunteer Fire Department purchase essential gear for its firefighters
BEACHWOOD, N.J. — The Beachwood Volunteer Fire Department has been selected to receive a $10,000 grant through the State Farm® Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program, providing important funding that will be used to purchase gear for the department’s
firefighters.
Beachwood is one of just 150 volunteer fire departments nationwide selected to receive an award through this year’s program. State Farm, in collaboration with the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC), is awarding a total of $1.5 million to volunteer fire departments to help them obtain equipment that improves responder safety and strengthens their ability to protect the communities they serve.
For the Beachwood Volunteer Fire Department, the $10,000 award represents an important investment in the men and women who volunteer their time to protect their neighbors. The
department plans to use the funding to purchase firefighter gear, helping ensure its members have the equipment they need when responding to fires and other emergencies.
Volunteer fire departments must continually balance the need to maintain and replace critical equipment with the realities of operating within limited budgets. Outside funding
opportunities such as the Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program allow departments like Beachwood to make important equipment purchases while reducing the financial burden
those purchases place on the department and the community.
“Our firefighters give their time and energy to be there when our community needs them most,” said Beachwood Volunteer Fire Department Chief Roger Hull. “When our firefighters answer an alarm, we want to know they have dependable gear that allows them to do their jobs as safely and effectively as possible. We are extremely grateful to State Farm and the National Volunteer Fire Council for recognizing that need and investing in the safety of our
firefighters and the community we serve.”
The State Farm Good Neighbor Firefighter Safety Program is now in its third year. The program focuses on supporting volunteer fire departments, which provide essential emergency services in communities throughout the country but often face significant
challenges when funding equipment, training and other operational needs.
In addition to awarding $10,000 grants to 150 departments, State Farm provided the first 2,000 program applicants with a one-year membership to the NVFC. The membership gives
volunteer fire and emergency service organizations access to additional training, resources and tools designed to support their members and operations.
The grant was announced in conjunction with Volunteer Firefighters Recognition Day, highlighting the commitment of volunteer firefighters who give their time in service to their
communities.
