Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Check out Cleveland Cultural Garden's 80th Annual One World Day and the Parade of Flags. This event will be held rain or shine this Sunday, August 30th, from 11 am to 6 pm. Learn more by visiting https://clevelandoneworldday.org/2026/

They are also looking for individuals who are proud of their heritage and are interested in marching in the parade. If that's you checkout the further instructions below:

People will be gathering at 11 AM (step-off is at 12 sharp) across from the Ethiopian Garden on MLK. It is on the south side of the gardens on Martin Luther King Jr Dr - a few blocks past the Irish Garden. There will be signs and volunteers to aid in directing. Participants can also get rides on available trams and golf carts to the start of the Parade. Simply ask any of the volunteers. The parade route will go north on MLK past the reviewing stand at the Plaza (all 4 TV stations) and end by the 'This is Cleveland' sign (for photos) by the Lithuanian Garden.

This weekend, FCSLA Life was in attendance at The Fest! These lovely ladies kept busy running the ticket booth for the raffle, as well as food and beverage ticket sales.
We were also excited to run into former FCSLA President, Mary Ann Johanek, and her son, Frank! ❤️
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day possible, including Barb Sekerak and Terese Joyce (Sr. Branch 141), Cathy and Kimberly Nadolski (Sr. Branch 423 & Jr. Branch 440), and Monica Gilles and Gianna Picciano (Sr. Branch 522)
It was a long day filled with incredible music, lots of laughter, and even better company. We’re so grateful to everyone who came out and made it such a memorable day!

Thank you to FCSLA Life Anna Hurban District of Chicago for its recent invitation to attend its St. Anne’s Day Mass and luncheon. The First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association is one of the many vibrant Slovak fraternal organizations that bring together members of the Slovak-American community. The Anna Hurban District of Chicago, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, has been a great supporter of the Honorary Consulate of the Slovak Republic in Chicago since the Honorary Consulate was established.

This morning, we gathered bright and early to honor the feast day of Saint Anne, a tradition that means so much to all of us at FCSLA Life. As we laid a wreath for our Patroness Saint, we took a quiet moment to reflect on her example of faith, devotion, and loving guidance, and on how those values continue to inspire our mission each day.

On July 2nd, FCSLA Life hosted a special celebration honoring our nation's 250th birthday!
From past leaders to current leaders, first responders, valued vendors, and even Beachwood's Mayor, we were grateful to welcome a full house for an afternoon of fellowship and celebration.
The temperatures may have been high, but no one seemed to mind. Great conversations, delicious food, sweet ice cream, live music, and even better company made it the perfect way to spend time together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us as we honored this incredible milestone in our nation's history. Here's to community, tradition, and celebrating the people who make moments like these so memorable.
