On Saturday, June 6, 2026, the Beachwood Police Department will join law enforcement agencies across New Jersey in the Goal: Zero Memorial Enforcement Campaign honoring New Jersey State Trooper Marc K. Castellano.

Trooper Castellano was tragically killed on June 6, 2010, after being struck by a passing motorist while conducting a search along Interstate 195 in Howell Township. This statewide enforcement effort serves as a reminder of the importance of New Jersey's Move Over Law and the responsibility all motorists have to protect first responders, tow operators, utility workers, and others working along our roadways.

Throughout the day, Beachwood Police officers will conduct high-visibility traffic enforcement with a focus on Move Over Law violations and other dangerous driving behaviors that contribute to serious crashes and traffic fatalities.

Every traffic stop, every warning, and every summons issued during this campaign carries a simple message: Slow Down. Move Over. Save Lives.

Together, we can work toward the Goal: Zero traffic deaths on New Jersey roadways.

At last weekโ€™s Borough of Beachwood Council meeting, three new officers were officially sworn in as full-time members of the the Beachwood Police Department.

Pictured from left to right:
Ptl. Patrick Fullerton
Ptl. Austin Dinklage
Ptl. Vincent Pedone

Each officer has previously served the Borough of Beachwood as a Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO II), where they consistently demonstrated professionalism, dedication, and a strong commitment to the community. During their time with the agency, all three have proven themselves to be valuable assets to the department and have earned this next step in their law enforcement careers.

We congratulate Officers Fullerton, Dinklage, and Pedone on this achievement and wish them continued success and safety as they begin their careers as full-time police officers serving the residents of Beachwood.

This past week was National EMS Week. The Beachwood Police Department would like to take a moment to celebrate the members of Beachwood Emergency Medical Services who answer the call to assist the officers and citzens of Beachwood and Pine Beach on a daily basis. These members volunteer their free time day and night for the benefit of the community. We cannot thank them enough this week and every week for their service to the community. Thank you!

The New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety, and law enforcement agencies nationwide are preparing for the annual โ€œClick It or Ticketโ€ enforcement campaign, taking place from May 18th through May 31st.

During this time, officers from the Beachwood Police Department will be actively participating in high-visibility enforcement efforts specific to seat belt violations. The campaign is aimed at increasing seat belt usage, improving roadway safety, and reducing serious injuries and fatalities resulting from motor vehicle crashes.

Motorists and passengers are reminded that seat belts remain one of the most effective safety measures available and are required by law for all vehicle occupants in New Jersey.

At last weekโ€™s Council Meeting, Mayor Cairns and the governing body presented a proclamation recognizing Peace Officers Memorial Day and National Police Week.

This proclamation serves as a reminder of the dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment demonstrated daily by law enforcement officers in service to their communities. It also stands as a solemn tribute to those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, and to the families, friends, and fellow officers who continue to carry their memory forward.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Mayor and Council for taking the time to recognize the service and commitment of law enforcement personnel, both locally and throughout the nation.
