BFPD Police Cadet Program – Meeting Recap!

At last night’s meeting, the night started off with the pledge of allegiance and uniform inspection. Led by cadet Torres, who took the initiative to conduct those areas of post business. 🚔🚔

Our cadets had the pleasure of receiving CPR and First Aid instruction from Officer Falk. The cadets learned valuable, potentially lifesaving skills and will receive their CPR and First Aid certifications upon completion of the course.

We will continue this training at a future meeting, with additional instruction planned, including Stop the Bleed, to further prepare our cadets to respond to emergencies and provide assistance when it matters most.🚨

A big thank you to Officer Falk for taking the time to share their knowledge and experience with our cadets! We look forward to continuing to build these important skills. 👏👏

🚔 Police Cadet Meeting! 🚔

Our Cadets had another great meeting! This week, they took part in a lesson on interview and interrogation techniques, learning about the importance of observation, and gathering information.

🧩 To reinforce the lesson, Cadets also worked on a crossword puzzle featuring key terms and concepts from the training.

💪 The Cadets also continued working on their physical fitness training, building on their progress and continuing to challenge themselves.

This Sunday, September 13th, we celebrate Grandparents Day — a special opportunity to recognize the grandparents who have played such an important role in our lives and our communities.

Grandparents are often our storytellers, teachers, supporters, and biggest cheerleaders. They share their wisdom, traditions, and experiences with the next generation, helping shape the people we become.

Today, we encourage our cadets and members of our community to take a moment to call, visit, or simply say “thank you” to a grandparent or special older adult who has made a difference in their life.

Rosh Hashanah | September 12, 2026

On September 12, we recognize Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year and the beginning of the High Holy Days.

Rosh Hashanah is a time for reflection, renewal, prayer, and looking ahead to the year to come. It is traditionally observed with family, community, and meaningful traditions, including the blowing of the shofar and eating apples dipped in honey as a symbol of hope for a sweet new year.

The Beacon Falls Police Cadets extend our warmest wishes to all who celebrate.

Today, we recognize the women who proudly wear the badge and serve with courage, integrity, compassion, and strength.

Women in law enforcement have earned their place through dedication, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to protecting and serving their communities. They are leaders, mentors, partners, investigators, officers, and role models—answering the call each day and carrying the responsibility of the badge with pride.

Their contributions have strengthened the law enforcement profession and opened doors for generations of women who will follow.

Today, and every day, we honor the women who have served and those that are serving today.

Thank you for your courage. Thank you for your service. Thank you for wearing the badge.

We also recognize the young women in our Police Cadet Program who are beginning their journey toward careers in public safety and law enforcement. Their dedication, discipline, and commitment today are helping build the future of our profession.

🇺🇸September 11 — We Remember🇺🇸

On September 11, 2001, our nation experienced one of the darkest days in American history. Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost in the terrorist attacks and honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who ran toward danger to help others.

We remember the police officers, firefighters, EMTs, military members, and ordinary citizens who demonstrated extraordinary courage that day.

For our Police Cadets, September 11 is also a reminder of the responsibility that comes with choosing a life of service — to protect, to help, and to stand together when our communities need us most.

🚨🚔Cadet Meeting- Sept. 9, 2026🚔🚨

Tonight’s meeting was another great night of learning, training, and personal growth for our Cadets!

The evening began with uniform and gear inspections, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Cadets then continued working on their resumes and cover letters as they prepare for the upcoming promotional process.

Cadets also received an introduction to Interview & Interrogation, with this lesson to be continued at our next meeting.

The majority of the evening was dedicated to scenario-based training, where Cadets responded to calls and practiced interacting with members of the public in situations similar to those they may encounter as Police Officers. These scenarios challenged our cadets to think critically, communicate effectively, and put their training into practice.

🏆 Tonight was also a special occasion as we recognized several Cadets for their dedication, accomplishments, and commitment to the program:

⭐ Cadet Torres — Recognized for being one of the original members of the program, demonstrating leadership, and participating in the 2025 Nerleea Cadet Tactical Challenge.

⭐ Cadet Keogh— Recognized for his commitment to the Cadet Program, being one of the original members, and volunteering at numerous community events.

⭐ Cadet Viveiros — Recognized for her enthusiasm and continued interest in the program, as well as her dedication and volunteer efforts at multiple community events.

⭐ Cadet Steczkowski — Recognized for volunteering at numerous community events, participation and graduation from the Nerleea Cadet Police Academy, and continuing to demonstrating enthusiasm within the program.

Every Cadet participated, challenged themselves, and gave it their all tonight! We are incredibly proud of the effort and dedication demonstrated by everyone. Great work tonight, Cadets! We look forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting!
