Earlier today members responded to Ferry and Beekman St not for a fire or medical emergency but to rescue a baby deer trapped in the storm drain.

Today we had the opportunity to attend Beacon High School's annual Career Day. We're happy to provide information to students on what it takes to become a firefighter, the required training, the hiring process, the day to day life of being a firefighter, handling emergency calls, our equipment and our “heavy" gear! Thank you BHS for hosting us and we look forward to coming back next year!

We would like to thank all of our mutual aid partners for a successful Mountain Lane tanker drill yesterday! Crews stretched multiple handlines, established a staging area, coordinated with numerous tankers to establish a positive water supply, allowing units to effectively run a continuous nurse operation, as well as run a seperate fill site. Drills like this refresh on valuable interagency co-operability, communication and skills that may not be practiced often.

Today is our scheduled Mountain Ln drill with multiple mutual aid departments. Please expect heavy fire department traffic from 9am to 1pm. Vehicle access will be limited and or restricted.

Please be aware that the City of Beacon Fire Department will be conducting planned training on Mountain lane on 5/28. This will involve temporary delay or restricted access to the area of the drill and possible temporary water discoloration. Please plan accordingly and thank you for your cooperation while this important training is completed!
