The last City Council meeting of August is not taking a summer vacation, we have a ton to discuss!*
Resolutions on the agenda this week are appointing two new police officers so we can send them to the police academy in September. We are also voting on a gender-based discrimination policy and City Council workday hours. So not a huge meeting for votes.
That being said, it will be a huge meeting for discussion! We are holding a public hearing on the revised site plan for Edgewater. We will also be continuing our discussion on short-term rentals and will be joined by Building Inspector Bryan Murphy to answer our questions about code enforcement and the permitting program. (Let me know if there’s anything you want me to ask!) Finally, City Planner Natalie Quinn will join us for discussing for the Fishkill Avenue District and the work the committee did to make suggestions about the corridor.
If you have anything to say on these topics, you should:
- Send us an email ([email protected] goes to all of us at once.)
- Come and speak at the meeting! You get three minutes and you’re not just talking to us, you’re talking to the whole city.
- Call into the Zoom meeting, raise your hand and you also get three minutes to speak about any topic.
*There’s so much to discuss, so we are are postponing two public hearings - one on hotels, and the other on the new parking law - to the next meeting in September. (On Tuesday, September 8 because we don’t meet on Labor Day.)
