At our July meeting, Lion Bob Polzin was honored as our Lion of the Year in recognition of his outstanding dedication and service to our club.

Bob can often be found behind the concession counter serving our Wednesday night youth league, tournaments, and brat fries. He is no stranger to volunteering and is always ready to lend a helping hand whenever it's needed. 🌭⚾️🍔🥎

Congratulations, Lion Bob, and thank you for your continued commitment, generosity, and service. 🦁
This recognition is well deserved!

At our July meeting, Lion Wayne had the honor of presenting the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award to Lion Donna Thorpe.
Donna has been a dedicated member of the Bear Creek Lions Club for many years. A past Tail Twister that could sell a pie to just about anyone and was always front and center serving at our annual Pancake Breakfast. 🥞
Alongside her husband, Gary, Donna spent many years collecting prizes for our bowling tournament, helping make it a success.
She was also instrumental in preparing for our potluck suppers, making sure everything was ready—from plates and napkins to all the little details that helped each gathering run smoothly.
One tradition everyone eagerly anticipated at our Christmas party was the gift exchange. Donna introduced the "RIGHT Family" gift exchange to our club, delighting members each year with a new, clever story that she personally wrote to accompany the game.
We are truly fortunate to have Donna as a member of the Bear Creek Lions Club. Her years of service, dedication, and enthusiasm have made a lasting impact on our club and our community.
The Melvin Jones Fellowship is the highest form of recognition awarded through the Lions Clubs International Foundation. It honors individuals who exemplify humanitarian service and have made significant contributions to their community and to Lionism. Donna is a most deserving recipient of this prestigious award.
Congratulations, Lion Donna, and thank you for your outstanding service! 🦁

49 Years of Service • Member Since July 1, 1977
For nearly five decades, Jim Clinton has been a driving force behind the Bear Creek Lions Club. His impact can be seen all throughout Lions Park and throughout our community.
Over the years, Jim has served as:
⭐️ Club President – 5 terms
⭐️ Treasurer – 10 years
Jim has also been involved in countless projects that helped shape our club into what it is today. He was part of the team that started the playground, helped tear down the old bar to make way for today’s clubhouse and ballpark, and played a key role in bringing lights to the ballfield.
His service doesn’t stop there. Jim has:
⚾️ Played and umpired countless ball games.
⚾️ Sold concessions and organized numerous tournaments.
⚾️ Mowed the park to keep it looking its best.
⚾️ Helped secure steaks for the Steak Fry, fish for the Fish Fry, and potatoes for the Pancake Breakfast.
When asked about his favorite memories, Jim said he is most proud of being part of a four-generation Lions family legacy. Watching the ballpark come to life, adding lights, hosting tournaments, seeing the club grow, and being part of Farm Technology Days are memories he’ll always cherish.
Jim’s advice to new Lions members:
“Get active. Come to a meeting and get involved!”
Jim, thank you for 49 years of leadership, hard work, and dedication. Your commitment has helped build not only our park but the foundation of the Bear Creek Lions Club. Your legacy will continue to inspire generations of Lions to come.
