Fort Bend County District Clerk’s Office Closed – Monday, January 26, 2026

Due to inclement weather conditions, the Fort Bend County District Clerk’s AND Passport Offices will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026. All Passport appointments have been cancelled and will need to be re-scheduled. To reschedule your passport appointment, please visit District Clerk | Fort Bend County, TX.

This closure is being made in the interest of public and employee safety as dangerous winter weather conditions continue to impact the area.

Fort Bend County is currently planned to reopen for regular business operations on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, pending improving weather and road conditions.

We appreciate the public’s understanding and encourage everyone to stay safe, stay warm, and avoid unnecessary travel during this winter weather event.

Icy Road Impacts Across Southeast Texas – Use Caution ❄️

The attached graphic shows reported icy road impacts across Southeast Texas. At this time, there are no reported road issues in Fort Bend County.

⚠️ However, this does not mean roads are completely safe.
Rain is moving out and temperatures are settling in around 31°F, road surfaces can still become slick, and patches of black ice may form, especially on:
• Bridges and overpasses
• Shaded roadways
• Elevated surfaces

🚗 If you must travel today:
• Slow down and increase following distance
• Avoid sudden braking or sharp turns
• Use extra caution on bridges and overpasses
