Welcome to the Gage County Sheriff’s Office official page. Our office has been in existence since 1857 and providing services to our citizens ever since. Our deputies, correction officers, and support personnel are involved in criminal investigations, traffic enforcement, court security, civil process, jail operations and other duties too numerous to list. We work closely with and have pa

rtnerships with local, state, federal and other emergency services agencies. This allows us to respond in times of crisis with the necessary resources while keeping our citizens safety in mind at all times. WYMORE COMMUNITY COFFEE

The Gage County Sheriff's Office appreciates the invitation to the Wymore Community Coffee and the opportunity to interact with residents and keep the lines of communication open.

We work in cooperation with the City of Wymore Police Department and Chief Rath on so many issues, including ones like this.

Congratulations to Deputy Kylee Schoen on her graduation from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center in Grand Island, Nebraska (Basic Class 223).

She displayed great leadership during the academy training and she was appointed team leader of Team 6. (the academy class is subdivided into smaller teams for training and academic purposes.

The academy consists of 16 weeks of training on various law enforcement subjects to prepare the students to perform law enforcement services with their agency and in their community.

Deputy Schoen was voted outstanding leader award out of the 49 students in her class.

Southern Public Schools SAFETY COMMITTEE MEETING

The Gage County Sheriff's Office and the City of Wymore Police Department assist in the annual Safety Committee Meeting for Southern Public Schools.

Chief Rath from Wymore Police Department, School Resource Deputy Hager and Sergeant Hanson attended the meeting with school officials.

The purpose of the meeting is to keep key staff members and law enforcement communicating and working toward safe schools.

FINAL TOWN HALL MEETING MONDAY, AUGUST 10TH / 7:00 PM
SOUTHEAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE AEC Building Room #134 (Beatrice, Nebraska)

The final town hall meeting on the Gage County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Center will be at 7:00 pm on Monday, August 10th, 2026.

The location for the meeting will be the AEC (Academic Excellence Center) Room #134, Southeast Community College, 4771 West Scott Road, Beatrice, Nebraska.

PUBLISHERS CLEARING HOUSE SCAM / GAGE COUNTY

A resident of Beatrice called the Gage County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, July 29th, to report she had received phone calls from a suspect informing her she had won $18.5 million dollars in the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes. Being an alert and wise citizen, she knew this person was a cozener and this was a scam because she had not entered the sweepstakes this year.....and had not entered the sweepstakes for the past 47 years.

The charlatan on the phone tried to inveigle her into accepting the scam anyway, stating he was in Omaha and he could have the "Prize Patrol" meet her away from her house and without the cameras for her safety.

The mountebank calling confirmed it was a scam for her because he told her she would need to provide $1,850.00 filing fee to register with the FDIC in order to receive the check.

She broke off communication with the suspect and called the sheriff's office to report the incident and alert the public.
