Independence Day is less than two weeks away. Our goal is to ensure that everyone in Beatrice can enjoy a safe celebration! A few reminders:

😺🐢 If you have pets that get nervous and anxious with loud noises, now is the time to talk to your vet about medications to help calm them and keep them safe over the 4th. Don't wait until the holiday.
πŸŽ‡ You may purchase and enjoy permissible fireworks in the city of Beatrice from June 29th to July 4th only.
⏰ Discharging fireworks is allowed between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. from June 29th to July 2nd, and from 8:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on July 3rd and 4th.
πŸ’‘ Be a good neighbor! After the fireworks are complete, make sure to clean up your area.
⚠️ Remember, safety first! Let debris cool completely before placing it into your waste cart.

Let's all consider the well-being of our neighbors, including our veterans πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ and pets. Together, we can have a safe and respectful holiday!

We put our intern, Bryan, to work with the Public Properties Department today as they began planting the landscape areas along Ella Street between 2nd and 3rd Street. 🌱

Bryan is spending the summer learning about all of our departments before pursuing his Master’s in Public Administration, and today, he was really digging in (pun intended).

We’re excited to watch this area transform. Great things are taking root along Ella Street! 🌷
