The Pat Conroy Literary Center is seeking its next Executive Director — a visionary, collaborative leader to help guide the next chapter of one of the South’s most respected literary institutions.

This highly hands-on role will help shape the Center’s future while honoring and advancing the legacy of Pat Conroy through storytelling, education, mentorship, and community engagement.

The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator, servant leader, and passionate advocate for literature, creativity, and cultural impact. Experience in nonprofit, educational, literary, or cultural organizations is preferred.

Big news from the Pat Conroy Literary Center — and two exciting events Beaufort readers won’t want to miss this month. 📚✨

First, due to incredible community response and growing demand, the upcoming evening with Sallie Ann Robinson on May 22 has officially been moved outdoors to beautiful Witness Tree Park across from the Literary Center.

The evening promises stories, culture, conversation, and Lowcountry charm under the oaks. Seating will be provided, but guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for extra comfort as we welcome one of the region’s most beloved voices for what is shaping up to be a very special night.

And don’t forget — another incredible literary evening is right around the corner.

On May 30, the Literary Center welcomes Brynn Barineau for an engaging evening of conversation, storytelling, and connection. If you love discovering new voices, meaningful discussions, and the unique literary spirit that makes Beaufort so special, this is one to add to your calendar now.
