Students with Elliott Elementary School conducted the Presidential Fitness Test at Laurel Bay as the program returns to Department of War Education Activity schools on military installations worldwide.

From push-ups to shuttle runs, students demonstrated teamwork, determination, and physical readiness while promoting healthy lifestyles and resilience. The renewed program supports fitness initiatives across 159 military-connected schools, helping prepare the next generation for success both inside and outside the classroom. ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ”ฅ

Educators from across the 4th Marine Corps Recruiting District participated in an immersive Educators Workshop at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, gaining a closer look at the mission, training, and equipment that support Marine Corps readiness. From classroom briefings to hands-on experiences with Marine Corps military vehicles, the workshop provided educators with insight into the opportunities and experiences available within the Corps.

Strength Through Coordination

Multiple emergency response agencies including MCAS Beaufort Fire & PMO, Laurel Bay Fire & PMO, Hilton Head Fire & Police, Bluffton Fire & Police, and private partners came together at the Laurel Bay Fitness Center to participate in an Active Shooter Incident Management (ASIM) class .

This training united military, local, and private responders in a simulated emergency scenario, strengthening coordination, communication, and rapid response capabilities. By working together as one team, participants enhanced their ability to protect and serve the community when it matters most.

Honoring distinguished leadership.

Gen. Bradford Gering, Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps, arrives and departs Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort while en route to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, where he conducted a site visit and served as the parade reviewing official for a recruit graduation ceremony. As the second-highest ranking officer in the Marine Corps, he assists the Commandant in overseeing the administration, discipline, operations, and readiness of the force.

From sharpening leadership skills in the classroom to building cohesion during PT and professional military education trips, these Marines have demonstrated the discipline, initiative, and warfighting mindset expected of NCOs.

Highlights from the course included a PME visit to Patriots Point in Charleston, connecting todayโ€™s leaders with the legacy of those who served before them, as well as challenging O-course PT sessions that reinforced resilience and teamwork.

1st Lt. Anthony Witte was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his impactful service and leadership as supply officer and interim company commander. Alongside the recognition, Marines conducted water-based physical training designed to build confidence in carrying casualties to safety, with exercises that replicate the physical and mental demands of combat.

First flight complete. โœˆ๏ธ

An F-5N+ with Marine Fighter Training Squadron 402 takes to the skies for the first time at MCAS Beaufort. The aircraft conducted its inaugural flight on station as the first F-5N+ assigned to the installation, following a redesign of its internal navigation and flight control systems to modern standards. VMFT-402 employs the F-5N+ and F-5N aircraft to provide adversary training in support of fleet readiness and advanced tactical instruction.
