The 51 career and 26-strong volunteer men and women of the Beaufort Fire Department stand ready to do whatever we can to serve and ensure your safety from fire and other emergencies. The City of Beaufort Fire Department operates out of four stations, and in addition to providing fire protection, provides basic life support (BLS) first responder service, hazardous materials initial response and thr

ough partnerships with other local fire departments capabilities to handle all types of hazards and emergencies. The Department takes great pride in its Insurance Service Office (ISO) Class 1 rating which allows businesses and homeowners alike to enjoy very low fire insurance premiums.

For a quarter of a century, Derrick has dedicated his time, energy, and commitment to serving our community and answering the call when needed. Reaching 25 years of volunteer service is an incredible milestone and a testament to the dedication, sacrifice, and passion he has shown throughout the years to our community and our department.

Please join us in congratulating and thanking Derrick for his 25 years of service and for the lasting impact he has made on our department and community. We are grateful for your dedication and proud to celebrate this remarkable achievement!

This afternoon, the City of Beaufort/Town of Port Royal Fire Department and the Town of Port Royal Police Department came together for some joint training, and we think it’s safe to say that K9 Rocky had the best seat in the house!

A big thanks to our partners at the Town of Port Royal Police Department for joining us!

We’re not sure K9 Rocky learned much, but he definitely enjoyed drinking water out of the firefighters cereal bowl!

Remembering Firefighter/EMT Raul Pacheco

It is with profound sadness that the City of Beaufort/Town of Port Royal Fire Department announces the passing of Firefighter/EMT Raul Pacheco, who tragically lost his life in an off-duty vehicle accident on Saturday, August 22nd.

Raul recently joined our department through the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program as he transitioned from his service in the United States Marine Corps., where he proudly served in Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) with Marine Wing Support Squadron 273 at MCAS Beaufort.

Although Raul was with our department for only a short time, he made an impact on those around him. He came to us with a servant’s heart, a desire to learn, and a commitment to becoming the best fire service professional he could be.

We are heartbroken by this tremendous loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with Raul’s wife, son, family, friends, fellow Marines, fellow firefighters, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Raul dedicated his life to service, leadership, and protecting others. He wore the uniform of his country with pride and was beginning a new chapter in the fire service family.

Thank you for your service to our country and our community. You will not be forgotten.
