Are you a military-connected child in high school, who plays sports or do you have one? Check it out!

Military-connected student athletes, this one's for you!

The 2026 Patriot Games, a national athletic competition celebrating America's 250th birthday, is now accepting applications.
Selected student athletes will compete August 9–11, be featured on ESPN and ESPN on ABC, and compete for a share of a $250,000 scholarship prize pool. Each selected athlete receives an all-expense-paid trip for themselves and one chaperone.

Military-connected students bring something unique to every competition; resilience, adaptability, and a kind of grit that comes from a life of service. We encourage every eligible student in our community to apply! The deadline is July 10, 2026.

Homeschool Families! Check it out. I don't have all the details yet. I have been arguing for this for years.

📣 Big News for Military Homeschool Families!

The Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) proudly supported the introduction of the COMPASS Act, legislation designed to provide continuity for military-connected homeschool students during PCS moves.

🏡 What would the COMPASS Act do?
✅ Allow military homeschool families to follow either the laws of their state of legal residence or those of their new duty station.

✅ Reduce disruptions and unnecessary penalties when relocating.

✅ Help ensure families don't have to "start over" with every move.

✅ Support educational stability for military children.

Military families homeschool at nearly twice the rate of civilian families, making consistency and flexibility essential. This legislation represents another step toward protecting educational choice and easing transitions for our military-connected students.

💜 Every move shouldn't mean starting over.

Great opportunity for Youth Leadership training!

Applications are open for MCEC's Caregiving Youth Student Leadership Program, a fully funded 5-day leadership experience at the University of Texas at San Antonio this October.

Caregiving youth, also known as Hidden Helpers, are high school students who are actively involved in supporting a wounded, ill, or injured veteran in their home. This program was built specifically for them. Students will engage in leadership activities, team building, guest speaker sessions, and lessons designed to prepare them for life after high school, all at no cost to their family.
MCEC covers round-trip flights, hotel, meals, and activities for the full 5 days.
