Join us at Whitehall Park on June 10th at 8AM for a naturalist-led bird walk. We'll meander through pines, stroll near the marsh, and finish up with the oaks to spot many different species of birds!

We may even see the Red-headed Woodpecker pictured below... *Wink* *Wink*

📝🌿 Field Notes Friday 🌿📝
Wednesday's bird walk at Crystal Lake Park gave us a glimpse into the lives of some of our local wading birds! We spotted a couple juvenile Green Herons learning to use their wings, observed Yellow-crowned Night Herons nesting, and even found a Wood Stork relaxing way up in the trees.

Every walk offers a chance to witness different stages of the wildlife around us. We see young birds learning their way through the world to parents tending nests and adults making use of the habitat. Moments like these remind us just how important Beaufort County's wetlands are for the species that call them home.

We're excited to announce that our very own naturalist will be making a guest appearance at some of Parks and Rec's summer camps this year! Get ready for some nature filled fun!
