Tropical Storm Edouard Damage Reporting

Residents are encouraged to take precautions during and following Tropical Storm Edouard. Once conditions are safe, residents and business owners are encouraged to report storm damage using the State of Texas iSTAT survey link https://damage.tdem.texas.gov/.

Submit one survey per affected address. Reporting helps emergency officials understand the extent of the damage. The survey does not replace an insurance claim or guarantee disaster assistance.

Stay Safe and Assess Damage: Do not enter structures with significant structural damage, flooding, downed power lines, natural gas odors, or other hazardous conditions. Once safe, document storm-related damage with photographs and contact your insurance provider as appropriate.

Use Qualified Contractors: Use properly licensed or qualified professionals for repairs and verify credentials before hiring contractors. Emergency repairs necessary to protect life, health, safety, or property may be performed, when necessary, with required permit applications submitted to the City as soon as practicable following the emergency work.

Report Utility Hazards: Stay away from downed power lines, damaged electrical equipment, and suspected natural gas leaks. Contact Entergy at 1-800-368-3749 for electrical emergencies and CenterPoint Energy at 800-296-9815 for natural gas emergencies.

⚠️ SAFETY ALERT: AVOID TRAVEL ⚠️

Due to reported power outages throughout the City of Beaumont, residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel at this time.

🚦 TRAFFIC SIGNALS: If you must travel and encounter an intersection where the traffic signal is without power or not operating, treat the intersection as a four-way stop. Please slow down, use caution and watch for other motorists.

⚠️ ROADWAY HAZARDS: Please remain off the roadways unless travel is absolutely necessary while City crews and first responders assess conditions and identify hazards, including downed power lines, debris and other storm-related dangers.

Never approach or drive over a downed power line. Assume all downed lines are energized and dangerous.

🌙 AVOID NIGHTTIME TRAVEL: With darkness approaching, motorists may not be able to see downed power lines, debris, high water or other hazards until it is too late.

🌧️ AVOID UNDERPASSES & FLOODED ROADWAYS: Periods of heavy rainfall can cause underpasses and low-lying roadways to flood quickly. Do not attempt to drive through water-covered roadways. Turn Around, Don’t Drown.

Please allow crews time and space to safely assess conditions and address hazards.
