SGPWA is putting water to work after the Department of Water Resources increased the State Water Project allocation to 45%.
The increased allocation, which follows improved precipitation in late spring, brings SGPWA’s total water supply portfolio to 17,035 acre-feet across all sources and will support expanded groundwater recharge efforts throughout the Pass area. Some of that recharge will take place at Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District facilities, demonstrating how regional partnerships help maximize every available drop of water.
“When we work together, the Pass area benefits,” said Beaumont-Cherry Valley Water District General Manager Dan Jaggers. “This partnership with SGPWA allows us to recharge more water locally and improve water reliability across the region.”
The additional recharge capacity will help store more water underground and better prepare the region for future dry conditions.
