☀️ Good Afternoon, Beaumont! ☀️
As temperatures continue to rise across Southeast Texas, the Beaumont Public Health Department would like to remind our community to help protect our most vulnerable residents, especially infants and young children, from the dangers of heat-related illness.
Never leave a child unattended in a vehicle, even for a moment. What may seem like "just a few seconds" can quickly become a life-threatening situation. Tragically, Texas has already experienced a pediatric heatstroke death this year. Together, we can help prevent another devastating and entirely preventable loss of life.
We encourage everyone to remember A.C.T.:
✅ A - Avoid leaving children alone in a vehicle.
✅ C - Create reminders to check the back seat and around your vehicle before locking the doors. Place a purse, phone, briefcase, or other essential item in the back seat as a visual reminder.
✅ T - Take Action immediately. If you see a child unattended in a vehicle, call 911 right away. Emergency responders would rather respond and find the child safe than arrive too late.
Protecting children is a responsibility we all share. By remaining alert and looking out for one another, we can help keep our families and community safe throughout the summer.

Let's work together to ensure Beaumont remains a safe, healthy, and welcoming place to live, work, and play, especially for our future leaders.

📚🎒 Good Afternoon, Beaumont! 🎒📚
As the new school year approaches, the Beaumont Public Health Department is committed to helping our students start the year healthy and ready to learn.

To better serve our community during the back-to-school season, we are extending our clinic hours from August 10–13, 2026, and will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.

Vaccinations play an important role in protecting children from vaccine-preventable diseases and helping them stay healthy, in school, and focused on learning. By ensuring our young leaders are up to date on recommended immunizations, we can help create a safer and healthier environment for all students.

🌞 Good Afternoon, Beaumont! 🌞

As temperatures continue to rise across Southeast Texas, the Beaumont Public Health Department encourages everyone to get outside and enjoy the many activities, parks, and events our wonderful city has to offer. However, it's important to take steps to protect yourself and your loved ones from heat-related illnesses.
Excessive heat can quickly turn an enjoyable day outdoors into a medical emergency. Taking time to gradually acclimate to the heat, staying hydrated, wearing lightweight clothing, and recognizing the warning signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke can help keep you safe.

To help residents plan outdoor activities safely, OSHA and NIOSH have developed the Heat Safety Tool App, which provides real-time heat index information, risk levels, and valuable guidance on preventing heat-related illnesses:
The app also offers easy access to important information about recognizing and responding to heat-related health concerns.
Let's work together to keep our community safe this summer. Check on family, friends, neighbors, and those who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat. By looking out for one another, we can all continue to enjoy the city where we live, work, and play.

Good afternoon, Beaumont!
Mosquitoes that can carry West Nile virus have recently been identified in Jefferson County. While the risk of infection remains low for most people, taking simple precautions can help protect you, your family, and our community.
✅ Eliminate standing water around your home, such as water in buckets, flowerpots, birdbaths, and old tires.
✅ Use EPA-approved insect repellent when spending time outdoors.
✅ Wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants, especially during dawn and dusk when mosquitoes are most active.
By working together and taking preventive measures, we can help reduce mosquito populations and keep Beaumont a healthy, safe place to live, work, and play.
Stay safe, stay protected, and enjoy your summer!
