Be a friend, not a bully.

The words we say, the way we treat others, and the choices we make each day can have a lasting impact - even when we don’t realize it.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and it’s an important reminder to look out for one another. You may not always know what someone is going through behind the scenes. A person who seems okay could be having a really difficult day, feeling left out, or struggling to feel like they belong.

That’s why kindness matters. Invite someone to sit with you. Check in on a friend who seems different lately. Speak up when someone is being treated unfairly. Choose not to participate when others are tearing someone down. Sometimes, one person choosing to be kind can help someone feel a little less alone.

At YAP, we believe in building each other up, supporting our peers, and creating spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and accepted.

This month - and every month - remember that you have the power to make a difference in someone’s day.
