The North Sewickley Township Police Department is reaching out with a sincere and heartfelt request for help from our community.

Located at 944 Brighton Road, Ellwood City, PA 16117, Locust Grove Cemetery was once a beautiful and peaceful resting place for many loved ones in our area. Unfortunately, due to limited funding and lack of ongoing maintenance resources, the cemetery has become severely overgrown and difficult to properly care for.

Many gravesites belonging to parents, grandparents, veterans, friends, and family members are now in desperate need of cleanup, restoration, and maintenance. Families visiting their loved ones are often saddened by the current condition of the grounds.

We are asking our community to come together to help preserve the dignity and beauty of this historic cemetery. Whether through volunteering your time, donating equipment or supplies, providing financial assistance, or simply sharing this post, every contribution can make a meaningful difference.

If you know of individuals, organizations, churches, local businesses, landscapers, or volunteers willing to assist, please reach out. Together, we can restore Locust Grove Cemetery and ensure those laid to rest there are honored with the respect and care they deserve.

On behalf of the North Sewickley Township Police Department, we thank you for your compassion, support, and willingness to help our community preserve this important place of remembrance.

Please share this post to help spread the word.

The North Sewickley Township Police Department does not endorse this activity but we are providing this public safety message with the hope that we can avoid any issues that may occur with the participants and our residents.

Attention North Sewickley Residents

Our High School students have started their 2026 Water Wars game today.
This is a tradition that goes back several years, and is played in many communities, so many of you are probably already familiar.

This is a very organized game with very specific rules that must be followed in order to participate. Basically, the students work in teams to “eliminate” other players by sq**rting them with water guns.

What does this mean? If your child volunteers to play, they will be targeted by other teams who could be lurking in your bushes at night. Obviously, your children are encouraged to let you know that this will be going on…but your unsuspecting neighbors might not be aware.

For the next few weeks you might see these groups of kids running around with their sq**rt guns to eliminate their designated target (who will be a willing participant).

While we love to see your children having fun, but we also want everyone to be safe. We encourage them to utilize water guns that are immediately identifiable as water guns…think big green super soakers with orange tips. It’s also a good idea to let your neighbors know if your kid is participating. We do not want our residents to hesitate to call us if they observe suspicious activity in their neighborhood, however, we want you all to be aware of the game.
