The South Beaver Township Volunteer Fire Department was a recipient of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Unconventional Gas Well Grant from the Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner. These funds were used towards the purchase of a DJI Matrice 4T thermal drone. The drone will be used for firefighting, search & rescue, scene size up, damage assessment and training. We would like to thank the Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner for their continued support.

❄️ Storm Update from South Beaver Fire Department ❄️

We want to reassure the community that the South Beaver Fire Department is fully staffed and ready to respond. Our crews have been at the station and on standby throughout the entirety of this snowstorm to ensure your safety.

⚠️ Please Stay Home: Road conditions remain difficult. We ask that you stay off the roads unless travel is absolutely necessary. Keeping the roads clear helps emergency vehicles respond faster if needed.

🚜 Road Crew Update: We are in close contact with the Township road crews. They are working incredibly hard to clear the snow, but it takes time. Please give them the space they need to work safely.

Stay warm and stay safe, South Beaver! Call 911 for all emergencies.

❄️ winter storm and safety preparations ❄️
As we prepare for the incoming winter storm, the South Beaver Fire Department wants to assure our community that we are monitoring the forecast closely. Our trucks are fueled, and our crews are staffed and ready to respond to any emergency.
While we are prepared to come to you, we need your help to keep everyone safe inside and outside your homes.
🏠 Home heating Safety:
With temperatures dropping, we know heaters will be working overtime. Please keep these tips in mind:
Give it space: Keep anything that can burn (bedding, curtains, clothes) at least 3 ft away from heating equipment, including furnaces, fireplaces, wood stoves, and portable space heaters.
Plug it in: Always plug portable space heaters directly into the wall outlet. Never use an extension cord or power strip, as these can overheat and start a fire.
Turn it off: Remember to turn off portable heaters when leaving the room or going to bed.
🚗 Travel Safety Tips:
The safest place to be is at home. If you must travel:
Slow Down: Speed limits are for dry pavement.
Pack a kit: Keep blankets, water, a flashlight, and a phone charger in your vehicle.
Move over: Please give plows and emergency vehicles plenty of room to work.
🚒 Help Us Help you!!!
In a fire, seconds count. If there is a fire hydrant near your property, please:
Clear a 3 ft radius around the hydrant.
Clear a path from the street to the hydrant so we can access water immediately.
Stay warm and stay safe!
