Last week, we hosted our most successful Wills for Heroes event to date, providing 50 wills to local veterans, first responders, and their spouses.

We are deeply grateful to all of the attorney volunteers, notaries, and witnesses who generously donated their time and professional services to make this event possible.

We also extend our sincere thanks to the Rochester VFW Post 128 for their continued support and for the use of their social hall; to McMillen, Urick, Tocci, & Jones Law Firm for providing breakfast for our volunteers; and to MISSION BBQ and My Heroes Sub Shop in Rochester for generously providing lunch.

A special thank you goes to Tracey Antoline Patton, Register of Wills, and attorney Bea Diaz-Cothen for their unwavering support and dedication in volunteering their time to help make this event such a tremendous success.

We would also like to recognize the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) for its continued partnership and support. In particular, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Gabriele from the PBA for her extraordinary work and commitment to the Wills for Heroes program — her efforts have been truly outstanding.

Congratulations to Mike Jones on being presented with the PBA Presidential Special Achievement Award at the PBA Annual Meeting in recognition of his outstanding leadership as President of the PA Bar Foundation. Mike’s unwavering dedication to the legal profession, combined with his extraordinary commitment of time, service, and resources, has made a lasting impact on the associations he serves and the broader legal community. His leadership, professionalism, and service exemplify the highest standards of the profession.

In recognition of Law Day, the Beaver County Bar Association proudly celebrated student achievement, community leadership, and a historic milestone.

We honored the 1st and 2nd place Mock Trial teams, individual award recipients, and the dedicated Mock Trial Attorney Advisors. We also recognized Jim and Peg Bishop as recipients of the YLD Civic Appreciation Award for their longstanding and meaningful contributions to the community. Thank you, Jim and Peg, for your continued impact.

Senator Elder Vogel presented certificates to students from the top Mock Trial teams in acknowledgment of their outstanding performance.

This year’s event also marked a significant occasion for the Association. In honor of its 150th anniversary, the Beaver County Bar Association received a formal Proclamation from the Beaver County Commissioners—Daniel C. Camp, III, Jack Manning, and Tony Amadio. In addition, Pennsylvania State Representative Robert Matzie presented the Association with an official Citation recognizing this milestone.

Congratulations to this year’s Mock Trial winners:
• 1st Place: Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School
• 2nd Place: New Brighton Area High School

We also commend the individual student honorees:
• Scholarship Awards: Paul, McKenna, and Ava
• Best Witness: Nathan
• Best Advocate: Giana

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Beaver County Bench, the Law Day Committee, and the Beaver County Courthouse administration and staff for their coordination and support of this event.

Thank you to our members for their participation, and to our elected officials—Senator Elder Vogel and Representative Robert Matzie—for attending and for their thoughtful recognition of the Association’s 150-year legacy.

The Young Lawyers Division of the BCBA, through the Beaver County Foundation, is pleased to announce our 16th Annual Charitable Golf Outing, awarding the 2nd Annual Chad Bowers Cup in memory of our dearly departed friend, colleague, husband, and father, Chad Bowers, Esq. This year the YLD will award one adaptive bike to a Beaver County child through Variety, with remaining proceeds to benefit a worthy Beaver County cause.

The format will be a 4-golfer team best ball scramble on Flag Day, Monday June 15, 2026 at Black Hawk Golf Course. Cost is $75.00 per golfer.

Your registration includes: 18 holes, cart, drinks, catered lunch, door prizes and more. Top prizes to winning teams. We will also have skill prizes for Longest Drive, Closest to the Hole, and Longest Putt. There will also be skins, basket raffles, and a hit the green competition!

Individuals or local businesses can sponsor a hole for $150. Each hole sponsor will have their business logo displayed on a tee box. Please provide us with a logo or pdf file of your logo.

Registration Deadline is June 1, 2026 so please don’t delay!!
