We are excited to announce that Brighton Township VFD has been awarded the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) as part of a regional request with Beaver VFD - Station 101, Industry VFD, and Ohioville Vol. Fire Dept. as participating partners to purchase new SCBA units and associated equipment!

The grant funding totals $877,695.23 allowing our 4 departments to replace their current SCBA’s and associated equipment with: 71 - SCBA units (air packs), 6 - Rapid Intervention Packs, 1 - Mobile Compressor/Fill Station/ Cascade System, 1 – Stationary Compressor/Fill Station/ Cascade System, and 71 – Voice Amplifiers. We will now begin the process of conducting demo’s and exploring the different SCBA manufacturers.

In the last 10 years, Brighton Township VFD has now received over $1.4 million dollars in federal and state grant funding, helping to support fire department operations to continue to keep our firefighters safe and provide the best service to our residents and our neighbors!

🚨 SEPTEMBER RECAP 🚒

Another month of service, another month of answering the call! Throughout September, the dedicated members of the Brighton Township Volunteer Fire Department continued working hard to protect our residents, respond to emergencies, and support our community.

📊 2026 YEAR-TO-DATE STATISTICS
Our department has responded to 752 incidents through September, including 104 calls during September alone.

Every incident represents an opportunity to make a difference. Whether responding to a fire alarm, assisting at an accident, handling a service call, or providing emergency medical assistance, our members remain committed to being there when our community needs us most.

But our service goes beyond emergency calls. Training, preparation, public education, and community involvement are all essential parts of what we do. Our firefighters continually work to stay ready, strengthen their skills, and provide the best possible service to Brighton Township.

🚨🔥 FIRE PREVENTION MONTH: PROTECT YOUR FAMILY WHILE THEY SLEEP! 🔥🚨

A fire can happen when you least expect it — and when your family is sleeping, early warning can make all the difference.

This October, the Brighton Township Volunteer Fire Department reminds you to take a few minutes to make your bedrooms and sleeping areas safer:

🛏️ KEEP BEDROOMS & SLEEPING AREAS FIRE-SAFE
• Keep candles, space heaters, and other heat sources away from beds, curtains, and anything that can burn.
• Keep electrical cords and outlets free from damage or overloading.
• Keep exits and pathways clear so everyone can get out quickly.

🚨 HAVE A SMOKE ALARM IN EVERY BEDROOM
Make sure there is a working smoke alarm inside each bedroom, outside each sleeping area, and on every level of your home.

🔊 MAKE SURE EVERYONE CAN HEAR THE ALARM
A smoke alarm only helps if you can hear it! Test your alarms regularly and make sure they are loud enough to wake everyone in the home — especially children, older adults, and anyone who may sleep deeply.

🔥 REMEMBER: YOU MAY ONLY HAVE MINUTES TO ESCAPE A HOUSE FIRE.

Take a few minutes today to check your smoke alarms, clear fire hazards, and make sure your family knows two ways out of every bedroom.

Stay alert. Stay prepared. Stay safe.
