Today I swore in BPD’s newest Captain.

Ed Mastripolito has served the Beaverton Police Department for over 16 years- 2 years as a reserve police officer and 14 years as a fulltime officer. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant almost 5 years ago and has served as a Patrol Sergeant, Admin Sergeant, and SRO Sergeant. Ed was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant approximately 7 months ago and excelled at the position.

Prior to becoming a police officer, Ed was an accountant for 15 years. His time as an accountant has proven very valuable as he has served as the Beaverton Police Association treasurer for the past several years.

Please join me in congratulating Captain Mastripolito on this well-deserved promotion.

Chief Jepson began the night by welcoming the 10 participants to law enforcement. She discussed with them the importance of highly trained, passionate and moral police officers and police volunteers and the role they serve in our communities.

Throughout the academy, reserves and cadets will participate in a variety of courses to include control tactics, investigation techniques, and emergency vehicle operations.
