Pride Beaverton felt different this year, as so many in the Q***r community carry the weight of this moment. Some of my most cherished humans are under attack. The hateful rhetoric and policy reversals aimed at our Trans and Non-Binary community demands all hands on deck.

For me, this isn’t about rainbow-washing, photo-ops, and pandering. This is about my niece, my nibling, my best friend, and so many who are actively being harmed and need elected leaders who will have the courage to fight.

Thank you to and the City of Beaverton’s former first openly non-binary Chief of Staff to the Mayor for joining me in the parade!

And of course special shout out to staff for your amazing parade support! Yal are the best of the best!!!

Get ready for a spooktacular time with THPRD on October 14 from 4-6:30 pm! Join us for a family-friendly Halloween event at the Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center. Little ones can safely trick-or-treat throughout the parking lot, groove at the DJ dance party, and meet some of their favorite characters. Costumes are encouraged, and no pre-registration is required! Just follow the event parking signs for a frightfully fun time. See you there! 👻🎉

May 16 is our Special District Election.

Have you received your ballot yet? All registered Washington County voters should have received a ballot by now. If you haven't, you can request a replacement by using the form at washcovotes.org or by calling the Elections Office at 503-846-5800

The voting deadline is 8 p.m. on the day of the election, Tuesday, May 16, 2023. Ballots that are mailed must be postmarked by Election Day. Ballots deposited in an official drop box must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day. As of January 1, 2022, Oregon allows for ballots that are postmarked by Election Day and received no later than seven days after an election to be accepted and counted.

The Beaverton Teachers Levy renewal has passed! Thank you for voting YES on Measure 34-321 to ensure Beaverton schools will maintain more than 280 teaching positions, ensuring our local students are prepared for post-high school learning and career success. We especially want to thank the more than 100 organizations and individuals who endorsed this measure and the dozens of volunteers who worked to help us win tonight! Tonight is a victory for Beaverton kids, parents, teachers, and everyone who wants a bright future for our students and our community to thrive.
