🚴‍♂️ The City of Beaverton Welcomes DALMAC Riders! 🚴‍♀️

As DALMAC cyclists travel through our city this weekend, we want to give everyone a warm Beaverton welcome!

We also encourage all drivers and travelers to use extra caution on the roads as we approach the holiday weekend, especially with recent storms in the forecast. It is a busy time of year across our great state — from the annual Dick Allen Lansing to Mackinaw Bicycle Tour (DALMAC) and last-chance outdoor summer adventures to the iconic Labor Day Bridge Walk across the Mighty Mac!

***Please note that Beaverton City Hall will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026 in observance of Labor Day.***

This is Pure Michigan, and we live for all types of weather and adventures. Stay safe, share the road, and enjoy your holiday weekend! 🌲🌧️☀️

Exciting news for Beaverton's Ross Lake Park visitors! 🚤☀️

We are thrilled to announce that a new Life Jacket Loaner Station is now set up at the Ross Lake Park boat launch area!

Location: Ross Lake Park – 358 Ross St, Beaverton, MI 48612

Thanks to an opportunity secured by the City of Beaverton through the Sea Tow Foundation, community members and visitors can borrow high-quality life jackets—free of charge.

How it works:

🦺 Borrow: Grab a life jacket in the size you need before heading out on the water.

🌊 Enjoy: Have a fun, safe day swimming, boating, or paddling on Ross Lake.

🔄 Return: Simply hang the life jacket back up on the stand as soon as you are done.

Please be mindful of the purpose of this station: these life jackets are shared community safety equipment intended to stay at the park. Always return them after use so they are ready for the next person—doing so ensures everyone stays safe and could truly save someone's life!

Important Ross Lake Ecosystem Progress Update! 🌊✨

While residents have been asking, we prefer not to share details until we have a full and accurate picture to report. We realize this dredging project (not w**d control) has been several years in the making, so here is what we can officially confirm so far:

County Delegation & Funding: Gladwin County granted the City of Beaverton delegation to work with two separate engineering firms to collect critical data within the waterways (as the City does not own Ross Lake). This lengthy process has been fully supported by two distinct federal funding sources:

MEDC Funds: $1,918,330

RCPP Funds: $1,500,000 (via Gladwin County agreements)

Project Status: Data collection is complete, and multiple required environmental reviews have been successfully finalized.

Bidding Underway: The project recently went out for bid, bids have officially been received, and the bid tabulation is currently in progress.

Next Major Step: The project is currently in the review stage of the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy permitting process!

Stay tuned for more official updates! Thanks for your patience, comments, and support as we move this forward for our community! It's important to all of us that we restore the Waterways to their original state before the 2020 flood devastation! 💙

UPDATE! WATER HAS BEEN RESTOREDAS OF 12:30PM!! NO BOIL ALERTS AT THIS TIME!!

___________________________
URGENT!! Please Share Notice.

Impacted Area: Customers along M-18 (Ross St) from Glidden to Blades.

Issue: Sudden water service outage due to an accidentally struck water main during construction.

Action Required: Expect temporary water shutoffs and low water pressure while crews execute emergency repairs.

Recommended Precautions:
Immediate: Keep taps closed to avoid air locks or sediment buildup in your home plumbing once pressure is restored.

Appliance Safety: Turn off ice makers and delay running dishwashers or washing machines until service is fully restored.

Post-Restoration: Once water returns, run cold water taps for a few minutes until clear if you notice any discoloration or cloudiness.

Check local city notices later today for any temporary boil water advisories.

Rest easy, everyone: we will not be suing Beaver's Mini Mart over Beaver infringement. Yes, even though they’re in Ohio. 😉

We've been holding down the true Beaver reputation since 1903, so there’s plenty of "dam" room for everyone! 🦫💪
