Too often, children are overlooked and decisions are made for them when their parent goes to prison or jail. Created by the San Francisco Children of Incarcerated Parents Partnership (SFCIPP) in 2005, the Children of Incarcerated Parents Bill of Rights highlights the importance of considering the needs and honoring the rights of children of incarcerated parents at the time of their parent’s arrest and during their incarceration. See and support children of incarcerated parents by printing the Bill of Rights and displaying it in classrooms, offices, or anywhere you'd like to show your commitment to honoring the rights of children of incarcerated parents. http://bit.ly/BILLOFRIGHTS

A mother's bond knows no limits; razor wire, cement walls, cell doors, jail bars and handcuffs will not extinguish the love of a mother for her child. This is the history of the name of this project. Mothers at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility wanted the world to know that their love for their children is unbreakable. With this in mind, we send a virtual Happy Mother's Day to all of the incarcerated mothers that contributed to this research project, and to all of the other incarcerated mothers in Oregon, the United States and around the World.
