Heads up: Scholls Ferry Road is closed at the railroad crossing just west of Nimbus Avenue starting today until late evening Monday, June 24 to improve the rail crossing. This is a Washington County road improvement project.

Scholls Ferry Road, between Cascade and Nimbus avenues, will be closed for railroad work June 21-24. Plan ahead; use the detour route.

Take a survey and enter to win a $100 gift card! Your feedback will help Washington County and the cities of Beaverton and Hillsboro assess housing and community development needs throughout the county and determine how to invest federal resources over the next five years.

Washington County and the cities of Beaverton and Hillsboro are conducting a survey to better understand the housing and community service needs of our residents. Your answers will help us determine how to invest federal resources over the next five years.

Responses are anonymous and should take about 10-15 minutes. We will have a drawing for three (3) $100 gift cards to be awarded from a random drawing at the close of the survey.

Join your neighbors, through Zoom, for this meeting of the Neighbors Southwest Neighborhood Association Committee (NAC) on Tuesday, February 13th 7 PM. As always, we will hear timely updates from our agency partners, such as the Beaverton Police Department, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, and Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District. Also, THPRD will be presenting about a proposed local option levy, which will be on an upcoming May ballot, and we will be visited by Beaverton Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers to receive a timely presentation on how you can prepare for winter emergencies. In addition, we will hear from the Senior Planner on the Cooper Mountain Community Plan about the draft zoning map and development rules for Cooper Mountain.

The city is looking for transportation ambassadors who will learn about transportation topics and develop and lead activities to connect with community members about the types of streets and transportation investments the community would like to see in Beaverton.

Heads up! Beginning next week, there will be road closures along SW Teal Blvd in the Neighbors SW neighborhood to fix groundwater drainage issues and make emergency street repairs. Construction is expected to last several weeks, from Monday, Aug. 7 through Monday, Sep. 11, with phased southbound and northbound lane closures that will impact travel in the area.
