This past week in our office was full with coordinations of rides to medical appointments, many phone calls, talking with new Rake the Time volunteer groups, other coordinated services, and meetings. One of the meetings was VERY special. π
This client is battling breast cancer and currently undergoing treatments. As you can imagine, it's hard to keep up on basic cleaning around the home. Thanks to one of our helpful kind volunteers, she doesn't have to worry about this anymore. β€οΈ This volunteer will be coming in to do some basic cleaning so that her home will be tidy. This way she can focus on resting, healing, and getting better. π
On my way to the meeting to introduce the volunteer & client, I felt overwhelmed to bring something to help this woman know she is cared about and to bring a little joy in her day. π»πΈ I was hoping a bright bouquet and some fresh fruit would bring a smile.
Of course it is such a small token but I could tell that it was touching to her, and I did see a smile. π
We are so grateful to have wonderful volunteers that are willing to give a few hours of their time to make a huge impact and someone that is going through such a difficult situation. We are also privileged to come alongside people in our community and do what we can to help.
Please join me in praying for all those affected by & battling cancer. π
