Same programs, new membership platform! Active Southern West Virginia has launched a new FREE membership platform. If you’ve attended an Active SWV Community Captain led program recently, you will have received emails about the change from the old system, Member Plus, to the new system, Glue Up, and your membership has been transferred over to the new system.

Current members: to activate your account, visit https://activeswv.glueup.com/ to reset your password. Attempting to login with your previous GrowthZone password won’t work, so please select ‘reset your password’, then enter the email associated with your membership to receive the password reset email. Once you’ve created a password, you’ll be able to register for events and manage your FREE membership online or with the My Glue mobile app!

The Fall Kids Run Club Mini-Grant is open until 10/16!
Kids Run Clubs are free running programs designed to get kids active in a structured and safe environment, while teaching them healthy skills and building their confidence on physical activity.

If you are a school or community group in West Virginia, apply for the Mini-Grant and receive Coaches training, the program curriculum manual, technical support form Active SWV, medals for participants, and $300 for healthy items for the club!

Congratulations to our Change Champion of the Month, Bella Green!

Bella is from Raleigh County, West Virginia. She is currently a student at Glenville State University, where she’s studying Wildlife Management.

Bella says being active has always been a part of her life. She grew up in an active household, both of her parents are CrossFit coaches, so staying active was just a normal part of growing up. She says being outdoors and exercising is her therapy and one of her favorite ways to relieve stress. Today, she’s a collegiate track and field athlete at Glenville State University, where she competes in the discus, hammer, and javelin.

During the fall, Bella was looking for community service opportunities through AmeriCorps when she found an internship with Active SWV, hosted by Conservation Legacy. She says she fell in love with the organization on her very first day. “Finding places to be active isn’t always easy, so being able to help create those opportunities for others is really meaningful. I love giving back to my community and helping people live healthier, more active lifestyles,” she says.
