It is with great sadness that we share the passing of former Board Member Austin Caperton, who faithfully served on the Raleigh County Solid Waste Authority Board of Directors from 2005 to 2017 as an appointee of the WVDEP.

We are deeply grateful for his years of dedicated service, steady guidance, and unwavering support of our mission. More than a valued board member, he was a true friend to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

His kindness, wisdom, and commitment to our community will always be remembered. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

For February 16th Presidents Day the Raleigh County Solid Waste Authority Landfill Operations will operate normal hours 8am - 5pm. The Recycling Center will also be operating as a public drop off. The Administrative office and Last Chance Mercantile will be closed in observance of Presidents day.
