At approximately 2:30 pm, the Beckville Fire Department responded to a grass and woods fire on county road 241. Upon arrival 1 to 1.5 acres were found to be involved on Luminant property. Clayton Fire Department and the Texas A&M Forest Service were requested for assistance. Beckville and Clayton contained the fire and due to forecasted high winds and low humidity, the Forest Service plowed a fire line around the perimeter.
