Thank you, Jessica Schuler & Laura Blau @ lasdonpublicgardens for hosting the Supervisor’s Quarterly Not-for-Profit meeting, where the group discussed the development of an NFP Impact report. With a mix of leaders from religious, cultural, environmental & social service orgs, the lively discussion & networking yielded ideas for collaborations & shared opportunities. Residents are so fortunate to have this incredible group provide services & enrichment. Thank you to this amazing community!

The Canadian fires and the heat are effecting the air quality in Bedford today.
Our local libraries are great places to cool down, meet a friend, and be cool inside.

Due to the fires in Canada, air quality is bad today - our town camps are cancelled.
Tiny tots is still on (indoors) and so is teen travel camp. All other camps cancelled due to air quality. Pools will be OPEN!

Drink plenty of water and stay cool.

Unfortunately, several roads are still closed and damage to poles and wires, resulting in power outages, is still extensive throughout the area.

ROAD CLOSURES: We are still working on NYSEG to come clear the large tree blocking Hampton Road in Katonah so those residents can get out of that dead end road.
State Route 172 and County Greenwich Road are still closed.
Chestnut Ridge and Wood Road are Con Ed territory and we are also advocating to Con Ed to help open those roads.

Once trees and poles are "made safe", then the crews can come replace poles and wires to get the power back on.

We just got off a municipal call with NYSEG and they tell us they have called in many additional crews coming in, and will have teams out 24/7 until the power is restored. They are currently updating Estimated Restoration Times to try to provide a more accurate picture of how long it will take to restore power.

Unfortunately, this is likely to be a multi-day outage.

Please do not go near any downed power lines or downed trees that may be on power lines.

ROADS CLOSED due to power wires and trees. Some are County and State. TOB DPW has employees in checking status and coordinating with utilities.

Wood Road by 93
Chestnut Ridge
Greenwich Road
172 between West Patent and McLain
Please stay away from downed wires. Check the Outage list on utility websites for estimated restoration time.

OUTAGE UPDATE 5/21 at 7:40am NYSEG has 27 crews deployed with more in the way. 183 customers out in 5 different areas in Town of Bedford. At least 8 broken utility poles that need to be removed and replaced and still some trees down. They say they are aiming for late afternoon restoration but it may take longer in some areas.

Thank you DPW and NYSEG for working all night to bring power back to so many. At this time 183 homes in town remain without power this morning in 5 different areas. NYSEG telling us that the damage is extensive with broken poles and they are working to get restoration times posted. May take some time to get everyone back up. Please avoid downed wires as DPW is working with NYSEG to clear downed trees and open roads so power may be restored. 1083 residents are currently without power.

High winds last night took out over a dozen utility poles in the Lewisboro/PR/Bedford area. NYSEG and Con Ed had crews on standby and they immediately started working to restore power. At this time in the Town of Bedford there are 233 NYSEG customers and around 100 Con Ed customers without power. All have estimated restoration times (ERTs) posted on the NYSEG outage list. I see some of the major roads (Bedford Rd in Katonah, Haines, and Babbitt) should be restored by early afternoon and most other roads show early evening ERTs.
