๐๐ Joint Water Rescue Training ๐๐
Members of the Bedford Hills Fire Department recently joined with the Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps (KBHVAC), Katonah Fire Department, Yorktown Heights Fire Department and their Dive Rescue Team for a joint water rescue training exercise at the Bedford Hills Pool.
Crews worked together practicing various water rescue techniques while focusing on teamwork, communication, and coordination between fire, EMS, and lifeguard personnel. Joint training opportunities like this help ensure our agencies are prepared to work together safely and effectively when called upon for a water-related emergency.
As part of the eveningโs evolution, the Yorktown Heights Dive Team also conducted a detailed overview of their Dive Team operations, including equipment familiarization, deployment procedures, and an explanation of how dive resources are activated and integrated into water rescue incidents. This provided valuable insight for all participating agencies into underwater search and recovery capabilities and interagency coordination during dive operations.
A special thank you to the Town of Bedford Recreation Department for allowing us the use of the Bedford Hills Pool, and to their lifeguard staff for participating in the training alongside our first responders. Their assistance and involvement helped make the evening a great training opportunity for everyone involved.
Thank you to all the members and agencies who participated and continue to dedicate their time to training and preparedness.
Training Together Today, Ready to Respond Tomorrow.
