The Bedford Democratic Committee is actively seeking candidates for the November 2025 Town of Bedford election cycle. The Bedford Democratic Committee is looking for
individuals with a variety of backgrounds to assure a diverse pool of candidates. All candidates must be residents of the Town of Bedford.

The petitioning cycle to gather signatures for balloting will begin early in the year. If you have ever thought about running for public office, this is a great opportunity to put your passion and enthusiasm to work!

Candidates interested in meeting with the Committee, should send a resume and letter of intent to [email protected]. Materials should be sent to the Committee at the earliest possible date, and no later than December 31. Questions can also be sent to the same email address.

Town of Bedford positions up for election during the 2025 Election Cycle, include:

Town Supervisor (1 of 1): The Town Supervisor is elected to a two-year term and functions as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer of the Town. The Supervisor also acts as the head of the Town Legislative Body. An ideal candidate
should have strong skills relating to all of these areas.

Town Council (2 of 4): Town Council members are elected to a four-year term, with a total of four (4) Town Council positions elected, two (2) at a time, in alternating cycles. The four (4) Town Council members serve as the governing body of the Town that
amends and passes laws and approves the annual town budget and funding of capital projects. This is a part-time position.

Town Clerk (1 of 1): The Town Clerk is elected to a four-year term and serves as the Records Management Officer and the Registrar of Vital Statistics. The Town Clerk's Office is where residents may be able to take care of a wide range of business with the Town and access information and records. Highlights include elections; requests for information, including FOIL Requests; licenses and non-building permits; fee schedules and registered vendors; and other services, including notary, E-Z Pass, cemetery plots,
etc. This is a full-time position.

Town Justice (1 of 2): Bedford Town Justices are elected to a four-year term. Bedford Town Court has two judges. Town Justices hear cases such as speeding tickets and driving while intoxicated, small claims, landlord-tenant proceedings and misdemeanors. Town Justices may also preside at the arraignment of defendants charged with most felonies, set bail and issue or deny orders of protection. This is a part-time position.

Hello Westchester County friends!

Early voting in New York State kicks off tomorrow, October 26, and runs through November 3. This is our chance to make our voices heard ahead of Election Day on November 5.

When you vote, I encourage you to support the Democratic candidates on Row A. Also, don’t forget to flip your ballot and vote YES on Proposition 1. This amendment aims to protect against discrimination based on ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, and sex—including sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, pregnancy outcomes, and reproductive healthcare and autonomy.

For those in the town of Bedford, here are some nearby early voting locations:

• Mount Kisco Public Library - 100 E. Main Street, Mount Kisco, NY 10549

• Somers Town House 335 Route 202, Somers, NY 10589

• Yorktown Cultural Center - 1974 Commerce Street, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598

You can vote at any of these sites, regardless of your specific address within Westchester County.

For a complete list of early voting locations and their operating hours, please visit the Westchester County Board of Elections website:
Let’s take advantage of early voting and ensure our voices are heard. See you at the polls!

Early voting for the Federal/State/County/Local Primary and General Election is a nine (9) day period where voters can vote in-person before Election Day in Westchester County.

Fellow Democrats,

This week, I've felt a surge of energy that I haven't experienced in a long time. And I know it's not just me-you've felt it too. There's a renewed sense of hope, an electric excitement about our future. It feels like we have a real opportunity to make a lasting difference for our families, our community, and the world.

I've found myself staying up way past my bedtime this week, night after night, glued to the DNC, mesmerized, inspired, and moved to tears by the powerful words of Michelle and Barack, Hillary, Bill, Tim, Doug, and so many others. And then, last night-Kamala. Her words were a beacon of hope, a clear and inclusive vision for a future that lifts all of us-no matter who we are, what we believe, or who we love. It was nothing short of extraordinary. I am filled with a renewed sense of purpose and hope.

I'm sure you're feeling it too.

But we can't let this momentum fade. As Michelle Obama reminded us, now is the time to do something.

We need you to step up and get involved. It's not just about electing Kamala-we need to elect Mondaire, re-elect Pete Harckham and Chris Burdick, and right here in Bedford, we need to elect Allie Whalen as Town Clerk and re-elect David Menken as Town Judge!

There are so many ways you can make a difference-register voters, knock on doors, make phone calls, send postcards, or simply talk to your friends and neighbors. Every action, no matter how small, matters.

We have a precious window of opportunity to turn the tide for our community and our nation. This is our moment to stand up, to make our voices heard, and to shape the future we believe in. Now is not the time to stand on the sidelines.

Let's WIN THIS TOGETHER!

Thank you,

Mark
