Tuesday the red ribbon was cut for HEB's new HEB! It was a great day celebrating the City of Bedford, Texas and its partnership with the City of Euless to bring a great business to our area. The mayors and city councils were invited to tour the store, taste the barbecue and take time to smell the coffee. Thanks to all who worked to make this happen.

City of Bedford, Texas hosted its first-ever public works open house. Big trucks to see and hot dogs to eat! It was so popular there's already talk of next year's second annual event. Woo hoo! Hope Councilwoman Amy Sabol and I'll get to hang out with Cone Man again.

Congrats to Shelly McClendon Lemman for winning Place 4 on the city council. Thank you, too, to Bill Thurlow for running a fine race. Both candidates, although competitors, remained gracious and polite. Bedford is fortunate to have great people who are willing to serve.

LEMMAN WINS PLACE 4

With 56.2% of the vote, Shelly Lemman won Saturday’s election for Place 4 on Bedford’s City Council. The final ballot count, including the early voting numbers totaled 1,445 votes for Lemman and 1,126 votes for Bill Thurlow.

Council Member Rob Gagliardi, in Place 6, ran for re-election unopposed and received 2,058 votes.

Busy day in Bedford!

We’ve got a BUSY Saturday around Bedford! 📆 We know there is some rain in the forecast this weekend, so here’s your event and weather update:

Chunk Your Junk: Bulk Waste Collection will occur as scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon at the Meadow Park Athletic Complex, 3200 Meadow Park Dr. Bedford residents can bring unwanted items in homes, garages, and yards (like broken furniture and other items that you can’t get rid of during normal trash pickup) to Meadow Park for proper disposal. Clean Up Bedford Day will begin at 9 a.m. at the Bedford Library, 2424 Forest Ridge Dr. Volunteers will be assigned an area and help clean up major streets, parks, parking lots, City facilities, and other public areas within Bedford.

𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗽
The Friends Backyard Picnic is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Library Greenspace, 2424 Forest Ridge Dr. Stop by to enjoy games, music, and some food trucks. If it’s raining, the picnic will be moved inside the Library and food trucks will be parked near the entrance of the Library.
