Repairs to the water line on Edgehill in Montvale are being made today and will be completed by this evening.

Repairs to Wheats Valley Road have been completed, and we're working to repair the road this afternoon. It will then be inspected by the Virginia Department of Transportation and once approved, reopened. There will be a few weeks before we can get it repaved.

If you should have any questions, please feel free to call our Customer Service team at 540.586.7679. Thanks again for your patience and understanding as we've made multiple repairs to our system since the breaks on Friday afternoon.

We have a raw water line break on Wheat Valley Road, and Virginia Department of Transportation has decided to close the road for the weekend. We will make repairs ASAP, but drivers should avoid the road. We again apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thanks so much for your patience.

UPDATE: Water service has been restored to the residents in the Peaks Road area. If you should experience any air in your lines or discolored water, please run cold water in your bathtub, sink, or outdoor faucets for at least 5 minutes to flush the lines. Our crews continue to respond to multiple breaks throughout our system. We will post more updates as we have information. Thanks again for your patience.

UPDATE 9:30 AM, SAT, 8/22: we will likely not be able to repair the break on Edgehill today, since we’re dealing with a major line break on Peaks Road with potential road closures and detours. We will continue to monitor tank levels, and adjust accordingly, if we see levels start to drop. We ask residents in the Montvale community to conserve water where they can. We again apologize for the inconvenience. We’re doing everything we can to address both situations, as well as another equipment failure, ASAP. Thank you for your patience.

UPDATE 7:30 AM, SAT, 8/22: an 8’ split was found in a 10” main on Peaks Road. Water remains off as repairs continue. Once repairs are completed, crews will address the leak on Edgehill.

We've experienced multiple main breaks on Peaks Road in the Town of Bedford. Customers from Nichols Road to Turkey Mountain, as well as those in adjoining neighborhoods, could experience low or no water pressure. We're doing everything in our power to restore service ASAP, but repairs could last through the night into tomorrow morning.

Those traveling in that area should expect delays with lane closures and detours. If you should have any questions, please call 540.586.7679

We were pleased to partner with Lynchburg Water Resources, City of Salem Water and Sewage, Western Virginia Water Authority, and Virginia Section AWWA to recently host the 4th annual Water Tower Showdown at our Smith Mountain Lake Water Treatment Facility. In addition to seeing who had the most creative, functional water tower model, the middle school students were able to also tour the facility. We can't wait for next year's showdown!
