There was a very nice write up with some great photos in the Bedford Gazette about our Civil War Weekend! Please share your best photos from the weekend in the comments!
A huge thank you, as always, to the wonderful living historians who made this weekend possible.
Thank you also to everyone who came out to enjoy the weekend with your families. And to our wonderful staff and volunteers, thank you for your extra dedication during these event weekends.
We hope everyone shares the wonderful sentiments that were sent to us by Brian:
“This past weekend I had the privilege of attending the Civil War event for the first time. I have been in the reenactment hobby for over 20 years and I have to say this was a great event to attend. When we weren't fighting the Yankees, I had an opportunity to peruse the grounds and meet some of your staff and volunteers. The folks in the Tavern were great, Brian in the Tin shop was a hoot to chat with and Dawn in the broom Shop was such an amazing person to talk with. She is a master of craft, the brooms she had produced were exquisite. I could have spent all day with her learning from her. Thank you again for an amazing weekend!“
Union soldiers took on their Confederate counterparts this weekend at Old Bedford Village, with guns and cannons sending sound waves rippling across the battlefield but luckily, no bullets.
