Another wonderful volunteer you can meet at our Village this weekend is Dawn, at the Broom Shop. Since starting with us at the Village, Dawn has completely revitalized the shop, learning the trade and making brooms that are truly works of art! We are so lucky to have her here, and our guests always benefit from the knowledge she shares of making these beautiful brooms using the time-honored techniques and equipment that have been used through the centuries!

Our Chandler’s Shop is one of the most popular stops at the Village, and Lisa is a huge part of the reason why! She takes the time to explain the candlemaking trade, and works with guests young and old who would like to try their hand at dipping their own candle to take home as a souvenir!

Come visit her this weekend, August 8 & 9 during her our 18th and 19th Century Living History Weekend! See our previous posts for more information!

We are so happy to have Myrna working in our basket shop. As a member of the Basketweavers Guild of Bedford County, she brings a wealth of knowledge to the shop and to share with our visitors. Plus our guests are buying so many of her baskets that we think she may become the next Longaberger!

Come see Myrna at work and learn more about the basket weaving trade this weekend, August 8th & 9th at our 18th & 19th Century Living History Weekend, and take home one of her beautiful baskets as a souvenir!
