📚🦖 We are just ONE WEEK away from reaching the 40-day goal in this year's Summer Reading Program!

What does that mean? If you've been reading and logging your days since the program began on May 23rd, you'll earn your Completion Prize as soon as you log your reading on July 1st! 🎉

Haven't been keeping up with your reading log in Beanstack? There's still time! Hop on the app or log in online and record your reading days so you don't miss out on the prizes you've earned.

Not registered yet? No problem! If you've been reading, you can still sign up and log those days retroactively. In fact, we're only 2 registrations away from matching last year's registration numbers. Help us surpass that milestone and sign up today!

📖 And don't forget—adults can participate too! Log your reading, earn prizes, and collect raffle tickets for chances to win gift cards or a fun gift basket.

Here Is What Our Book Clubs Will Be Reading And Discussing In July...

- Thursday, July 2nd at 2:00 PM at the Montvale Library Book Club (Reader's Choice - pick any book you want to read and come discuss it with the group.)

- Tuesday, July 7th at 4:30 PM - The Big Island Library Graphic Novel Book Club for kids ages 8 to 12. Come talk about your favorite DINOSAUR-themed Graphic Novel.

- Monday, July 13th at 1:00 PM at the Forest Friends Book Club (The River Is Waiting by Wally Lamb)

- Monday, July 13th at 3:00 PM at the Moneta/SML Library's Literary Lakers Book Club (Happy Birthday to you! Read a book published the year you were born.)

- Tuesday, July 14th at 5:30 PM at the Stewartville Library (The Postmistress by Sarah Blake)

- Tuesday, July 21st at 10:30 AM at the Big Island Library (Reader's Choice - pick any book you want to read and come discuss it with the group.)

You are cordially invited to the Stewartsville Library's Dinosaur "Tea-Rex" Party next Saturday, June 27th, at 11 AM.

Enjoy stories about your favorite prehistoric creatures, learn dinosaur tea party etiquette, and make dinosaur-themed crafts that are fun for the whole family.

Participants are encouraged and welcomed to dress up in their favorite tea party or dinosaur apparel. Please register to secure your spot at the Tea Table. Snacks and drinks will be provided while supplies last.

Come get creative and build a dinosaur creation of your choice out of LEGOs® at the Big Island Library next Thursday, June 25th! Drop in anytime between 1:00pm and 3:00pm (no registration is required) to be entered into the contest and be eligible for a special prize for the winners of each age group.

Age Group 1: 5-8, Age Group 2: 9-12

Library staff will vote on a winning dinosaur, and all LEGO® creations will be on display at the library for the following week.

Today is Friday, so that means it's time for a new Friday Facebook Freebie Advanced Reader Copy giveaway prompt!

Name a random "hidden treasure" that a "Carchaeologist" would most likely find if they were to go on an expedition in your car!

Entries should be posted by 11:59 PM on Thursday, June 25th.
Rules for the Library giveaway:
1. Must Like/Follow BPLS on Facebook.
2. Books being given away are mostly Advance Reader Copies (ARCs), which often include errors, and the books cannot be given back to us or sold.
3. Winners should be Bedford County or a surrounding county/city residents - Lynchburg, Campbell, Botetourt, Roanoke, Amherst, Pittsylvania, Rockbridge, or Franklin.
4. Winners will be announced in a special post on Facebook and notified via Facebook Messenger on the Friday following each giveaway with a list of titles to choose from. Winners can then select which of our branches they would like to pick up their prize from.
5. We will NEVER ASK YOU for any credit card information OR announce the winner(s) by commenting directly on your original entry.

Young dinosaur fans are invited to take part in this fun-filled Summer Reading event featuring three exciting locations:

🦴 Dig for ancient treasures at the Dinosaur Dig at the Bower Center for the Arts

🥚 Hunt for hidden dinosaur eggs in the Wharton Garden

🎨 Show off your artistic skills in the Dinosaur Coloring Contest at Bedford Central Library (And while you're there, be sure to check out some books so you can spin the PRIZE WHEEL!)
