In response to the heat advisory on July 1st, the SJC Warming Shelter and Shower & Suds has been in operation for four days, offering 31 hours of service. Ten volunteers have contributed to supporting 19 individuals, totaling 35 guest days. The shelter has served 44 meals and has also facilitated eight loads of laundry and six showers. Stephen Blizzard and Melissa Brooke are a highly effective team at the SJC Warming Shelter and Shower & Suds. We experienced a high "feels like" temperature of 107 degrees.
