Spring is here, and so is baby wildlife season! 🦌🌷
If you spot a baby deer (fawn) curled up alone in your yard, near your home, or alongside a wooded area, please remember: this is completely normal behavior. Mother deer often leave their fawns hidden and still for hours at a time while they search for food nearby.
A fawn that is quiet, lying down, and not visibly injured is usually NOT abandoned or in distress. For their safety, the best thing you can do is leave them alone, keep pets away, and observe from a distance.
Well-meaning attempts to “rescue” healthy wildlife can actually do more harm than good.
If the animal appears injured, is wandering and crying continuously, or you witness a deceased mother nearby, give us a call so we can help.
