This week, 29 Fire responded to three separate fires throughout the township.
On Thursday afternoon, crews responded to a motor vehicle fire in the driveway of a townhome with exposure to a second vehicle and the attached garage. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control, preventing it from extending into the residence.
Later Thursday evening, members responded to a fire on the exterior of the Pluckemin Inn. The fire was successfully contained to the outside of the structure, with no extension into the restaurant.
Earlier in the week, 29 Fire was dispatched for a reported electrical fire. Upon arrival, crews discovered that lithium batteries charging in a mudroom had caught fire. Firefighters removed the batteries and contained the fire to the mudroom, preventing it from spreading to the rest of the home. Thank you to Somerset County Haz-mat for their response to this call.
These incidents serve as a reminder that fires can happen at any time. Working smoke alarms, early notification, and a quick response help make all the difference.
