Did you know we have a lost and found collection at the Beecher Police station?

We often receive items found around town from helpful citizens. Items received are stored for 90 days, or until the owner claims them.

🚨Will County Alerts are changing!🚨

Starting July 1, 2026, Will County will switch to Smart911 for emergency and community alert notifications. This includes alerts received from Beecher Police / Village of Beecher.

If you are currently signed up for Will County alerts through Everbridge/Nixle, you will need to register through Smart911 to continue receiving local alerts.

Smart911 can be used to send important notifications such as public safety alerts, boil orders, road closures, severe weather information, and other emergency or community alerts.

Please take the time to sign up before you miss out on important alerts.

Tomorrow 6/10/26!

It’s the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois! Come out to cheer Beecher on as we carry the “Flame of Hope” down Dixie Hwy. We’ll accept the torch near the corner of Dixie Hwy and Church Rd at approximately 12:00 pm and run south to Fireman’s Park. We’d love to see you there!

Please see the following solicitor permit issued to Seth Moncado for Comcast-Xfinity services. Solicitors are required to display this permit while conducting soliciting activities in the Village of Beecher. When applying for a permit, the applicant must submit fingerprints for a criminal history query and agree to a background check. Once approved, the permit is issued.

Solicitors are instructed to obey no soliciting and no trespass signage. If you believe a solicitor is not following local ordinance pertaining to soliciting, please contact the Beecher Police Department.

As always, please report suspicious persons/activity by calling 911. For non-emergency inquiries, please contact (708) 946-6388.

Due to the overnight rain, out of an abundance of caution for the yutes, we have cancelled the bike rodeo for today.

The parking lot still has standing water and we are unable to set up the skills course properly.

Keep an eye out for an alternative date for the rodeo and make the most out of this weekend.

Garage Sale Days are upon us!

For some, this is the most wonderful time of the year! (Cue Andy Williams)

For others, maybe not so much… However, here’s some helpful tips to make garage sale days safe and fun for everyone:

-Be respectful! We all want to find the perfect bargain (especially if you’re selling hand painted Elvis collector plates!). But, treating each other with respect will ensure we all have a great experience.

-Follow the rules of the road! Only park where you’re supposed to. Pay attention to road signs. Don’t block anyone’s driveway (even just for a second to pick up that set of Beanie Babies you’ve wanted since you were a kid). Don’t block fire hydrants, etc.

-If you see anything suspicious, call Beecher Police. Garage sale days invites lots of unfamiliar faces into our community. Some bad players may take advantage of this. Keep an eye on your tables, lock your doors, and keep your head on a swivel.

*** COMMUNITY ALERT ***

On 5/31/26 at approximately 10:23 am, Beecher Police were called to 264 Woodward St. for a report of a suspicious vehicle, a blue Jaguar SUV. Upon arrival, officers made contact with driver, Floyd R. Thomas. After a brief conversation, Thomas attempted to flee, accelerating in reverse, toward one of the officers on scene. Thomas then fled the area. Officers attempted to locate Thomas and were able to utilize FLOCK license plate reader cameras to determine he was traveling northbound on IL Rt 1 at Eagle Lake Rd. Thomas’ vehicle and description were broadcast for surrounding agencies and Crete Police began to pursue Thomas a short time later. Thomas crashed into a utility pole in the area of Klemme Rd and Old Post Rd. in Crete Township. After a brief foot pursuit, he was taken into custody. Thomas was subsequently transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility with request for detainment. Thomas was charged with crimes occuring in Crete Police jurisdiction. Additional charges are pending for crimes occurring within the Village of Beecher.

We would like to thank the Crete Police Department for their diligence in apprehending Thomas.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Join us on June 6 for our annual BIKE RODEO!

Our annual bike rodeo returns Saturday, June 6 at the Beecher Police Department. Registration begins at 8:30am and the event begins at 9:00am. Kids, bring your bike and safety gear and test your abilities on our obstacle courses! We’ll also be performing bicycle inspections. This event is free and open to Beecher residents. We’ll have prizes along with refreshments and fun!
