21hr Delay
At approximately 1:34 p.m. today, our crews responded to a reported structure fire at 64 West 34th Street.
Thanks to an aggressive, fast attack by our firefighters and the seamless coordination of our mutual aid partners, the fire was quickly contained to the upstairs bedrooms, preventing further devastating damage to the rest of the home.
Most importantly, no injuries were reported, and all occupants and their animals were evacuated safely.
We could not be prouder of our crew for their quick thinking, rapid response, and dedication to keeping our community safe. Days like today highlight the incredible training, grit, and teamwork of our department.
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to our mutual aid partners for their immediate assistance on the scene: Crete, Crete Township, Monee, South Chicago Heights, Park Forest, and Sauk Village.
Thank you to our community for your continued support
