Hello All!
The 20th Annual Lions Club Freedom 5K will be held THIS Saturday, July 4 starting at 8 AM. We will have over 200 participants from many different towns and villages competing in this year’s event. The course starts and finishes in front of the Community Building on Penfield Street and is basically between Penfield and Miller and then winds down Catalpa and around Willow and back to Penfield. If you would like to watch the race, please see the attached map.

We respectfully ask that if you are driving in these areas on Saturday morning that you use caution. The majority of the finishers will be done by 9AM. We are sorry if this creates any inconvenience, but it does bring many people into our community, many for the first time and exposes them to our 4th of July Festival and our beautiful Village of Beecher.

We want to thank the Village of Beecher, IL for allowing us to have this race and a special thank you to the Beecher 4th of July Festival, Beecher Police Department, Village of Beecher Emergency Management Agency and the Beecher Fire Protection District!

There is still time to signup go to Runsignup.com and search for the Beecher Freedom 5K.

Confidence is high in dangerous heat in the Monday through Wednesday period with little relief during the night. The heat may continue beyond Wednesday, but increasing storm chances lower confidence for the late week period.

🚨 Did you receive an alert today about switching to Smart911?

Will County is transitioning to Smart911 for emergency notifications and community alerts. If you are currently signed up through Everbridge, you will need to register with Smart911 by July 1 to continue receiving local alerts.

Smart911 also allows you to create a Safety Profile with important information that may help 911 dispatchers and first responders during an emergency.

🎶🎤You say goodbye, and I say hello.
At last nights village board meeting EMA Director Bob Heim presented Dale, Sherry and Karalyne Murray with certificates of recognition for their years of service to the Village of Beecher Emergency Management Agency. The Murray’s are moving on to Tennessee, a goal that has been long awaited and finally reached. Best of luck to the Murray family in their next chapter.

Beecher EMA would also like to welcome our new team member Mickey Conner. Mickey is a former member of the Beecher Fire Protection district. He will be a great asset to the EMA team.
