🚨 Homicide Investigation Leads to Arrest 🚨

During the early morning hours of May 16, the Bee County Sheriff’s Office actively investigated the death of an individual that occurred in the 200 block of Treptow Road in the Blueberry Hill area.

Responding deputies discovered a deceased 42-year-old female suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. At this time, the identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Investigators and deputies worked throughout the night processing the crime scene, recovering evidence, and conducting witness interviews as critical parts of this extremely complex investigation.

During the course of the investigation, a suspect was identified as 40-year-old Tomas Suniga, Jr.

At approximately 4:20 PM, Suniga was located and arrested without incident in the 5900 block of US Highway 181. He was transported and booked into the Bee County Jail on a charge of Murder, a First Degree Felony, pursuant to a warrant issued by Bee County Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 Judge Showalter.

At this time, Suniga remains in the Bee County Jail and has not yet received a bond on the charge.

Sheriff Randy Aguirre and the Bee County Sheriff’s Office are extremely proud of the tireless efforts, dedication, and professionalism displayed by the Criminal Investigation Division and Patrol Division throughout this investigation. These deputies demonstrated exceptional skill and commitment to protecting our community while seeking justice for the victim and her family.

The Bee County Sheriff’s Office also extends a sincere thank you to our assisting agencies for their support and cooperation during this investigation, including the Texas Rangers, Texas Highway Patrol, and the Beeville Police Department. We greatly appreciate the strong working relationships we share with our law enforcement partners.

As always, all persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
