🙌 We are grateful to have been awarded a Maryland Housing Counseling Fund (MHCF) grant through the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). This funding allows us to continue delivering vital housing counseling services, including pre- and post-purchase homeownership counseling, financial education, and credit coaching, for aspiring, new, and existing homeowners.

👏 DHCD is a trusted, long-standing partner in our mission to expand homeownership opportunities. This MHCF grant will help struggling individuals and low-income families improve their lives, as they work to achieve financial stability and affordable homeownership through our program. Thank you, DHCD!

🙌 Our endless gratitude goes out to Harford County Government, our steadfast partner in creating and preserving affordable housing for low-income members of our community. Most recently, Habitat Susquehanna received a grant award through the county's Housing and Homelessness Grant, for which we received funding for our Homeownership and Critical Home Repair programs in Harford County. This support enables us to reach many struggling individuals and families, ensuring they have a safe, affordable, and decent place to call home.

While our Aberdeen ReStore is not open on Mondays (or Sundays), it doesn't mean we should ignore mentioning that today is National Thrift Shop Day! It's not only a day to celebrate the fact that we love secondhand/bargain shopping, but it is also aims to highlight charitable giving, directed at organizations -- such as Habitat Susquehanna -- that run thrift stores to help generate vital funding for their cause.

🏫✏️🪑🖼️ As students head back to school, the ReStore can be a great place to find items to add personal touches to their dorm room or study space. Come visit our ReStore; we're open Tuesdays through Saturdays!

🙌 Habitat Susquehanna is grateful to have just received a 2027 Technical Assistance Grant from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). The state utilizes this grant to address community revitalization and economic development, which we provide through our many programs and projects, including the construction of affordable homes for low-income households, and a free financial education program.

🚨A senior citizen contacted our Repair Program Manager today to report that she has been seeing ads on Facebook about Habitat for Humanity doing free lawn work for seniors in Harford County. THIS AD SHE SAW IS A SCAM.🚨

🚫 This fake ad is part of an ongoing series of scams targeting seniors through different fake social media profiles, pretending to inform the public about services Habitat for Humanity is supposedly offering -- current claims are for free lawn work; past claims have been for roofs, bathroom remodeling, windows, and more. NONE of these posts are true.

✅ Contact us if you are unsure about what Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna can offer. However, at this time, please note that -- due to an overabundance of applications, coupled with limited funding -- our Repair Program is not accepting any new applications for assistance at this time. WE ARE ONLY DOING WORK FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE CURRENTLY ON OUR WAITING LIST, AND ONLY AS OUR FUNDING ALLOWS.
